Geospatial Week 2015: enabling geospatial communities to meet, to exchange, and cross-fertilize

Dear Colleague,

We would like to welcome you at the ISPRS Geospatial Week 2015 that will be held in France in the South of France from 28 September to 3rd October 2015.

The Geospatial Week is a bundle of already established conferences/workshops (under the auspices of ISPRS and/or other sister societies) but also emerging events. The following are already on-board:

  • Silvilaser (Lidar applications for assessing forest ecosystems)
  • Laserscanning (Point cloud acquisition and processing)
  • CMRT (Object extraction for 3D city models, road databases and traffic monitoring)
  • ISA (Image Sequence Analysis for object and change detection)
  • ISSDQ (Geospatial Data quality)
  • Gi4DM (Geoinformation fo disaster management)
  • Geo-Hyper (Hyperspectral geospatial imagery and processing)
  • Geo-VIS (Cognition and decision making with imagery and abstract maps)
  • Geo-BigData (Processing and rendering of geospatial BigData)
  • Geo-UAV (UAVs for geospatial data collection)

If your scientific community wants to contribute to the Geospatial Week with an additional worshop, please submit your proposal (via our call for workshop link) before 3rd December.

All information can be found on our website: www.isprs-geospatialweek2015.org

In addition to the website, we will issue a monthly newsletter with all updated news.

Let us all make this event yours!

Best regards.

SPIE Optical Metrology 2015 – Videometrics XIII CfP

************* SPIE Optical Metrology
************* Videometrics, Range Imaging and Applications XIII
************* 22-25 June 2015
************* Munich, Germany

(With apologies for any cross postings.)
For more than two decades the Videometrics conferences have been providing a unique forum for vision metrology, photogrammetry, computer vision and image analysis researchers, developers and practitioners to present the latest advances in precise 3D measurement and accurate modeling from imaging and range sensors. The 13th edition of the Videometrics conference will focus on image and range data processing and modeling in applications such as rapid product development, monitoring, precision metrology, deformation analyses, 3D digitizing, material and component testing, human body modeling, surveillance, industrial inspections, cultural heritage applications and medicine.

Videometrics will be held within SPIE Optical Metrology, the premier conference in Europe that brings together users and researchers to discuss the latest inventions and applications in the field of optical metrology. Optical Metrology will contain six conferences that focus on new optical principles and systems for metrology, videometrics and machine vision with applications in industrial design, production engineering, process monitoring, maintenance support, biotechnology, vehicle navigation, multimedia technology, architecture, archaeology and arts.

Optical Metrology is co-located with the Laser World of Photonics 2015, providing delegates with access to a huge exhibit of the latest technology associated with lasers and optical systems, and offering an excellent opportunity to connect with engineers, researchers and developers from Europe and beyond.

In 2015 Videometrics will feature three excellent invited speakers who will present the latest algorithms and techniques in optical metrology and tracking.

For Videometrics 2015, we invite submission of original research contributions, as well as demonstrations of successful applications in (but not limited to) the following technical areas:

  • 3D sensing and calibration: passive and active sensors, unmanned platforms, automated calibration orientation, performance assessment
  • 3D processing and modeling: complex environments, passive and active scanning, deformation and deformable surfaces, image matching strategies
  • motion capture and animation: image sequence capture and display, image matching, motion tracking and real time analysis
  • visualization: rendering, multi-resolution representations, texture acquisition and mapping
  • 3D applications in the fields of engineering, industry, medicine, cultural heritage, bioscience, environment and entertainment

Important Dates:

Abstract Due Date: 16 December 2014
Author Notification: 16 February 2015
Manuscripts Due: 13 April 2015

Invited speakers:

  • Prof. Bernd Jaehne, Heidelberg University, Germany: Light field-based videometry.
  • Prof. Reinhard Koch, Christian Albrechts University of Kiel, Germany: Real time tracking of deforming surfaces with color+depth cameras.
  • Prof. Stuart Robson, University College London, UK: Optical metrology with low cost camera systems for advanced manufacturing.

The Programme Committee will review all the submitted abstracts. Abstracts should be a minimum of 500 and a maximum of 1000 words (approximately 1-2 pages of single-spaced 12 point font). Authors are encouraged to include figures and diagrams to illustrate the  concepts outlined in the abstract.
For more information related to Videometrics 2015 and for the abstract submission, please visit the SPIE website (http://spie.org/EOM/conferencedetails/videometrics-range-imaging-and-applications ) or contact us via email.
Please circulate this announcement to all your colleagues and apologies in advance for any cross-posting of the announcement.

Looking forward meeting you in Munich!
On behalf of the Videometrics conference committee,

1st Announcement 55. Photogrammetric Week in Stuttgart, Sept 7-11, 2015 “Excellence in Photogrammetry, Computer Science and Geoinformatics”

Dear Colleagues, long-time Participants of PhoWo, dear Friends, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Have you ever participated in a “Boutique” Conference in photogrammetry, computer cience and geoinformatics? If YES, this is a chance to re-visit Stuttgart, if NO, this would be an excellent opportunity to participate in a scientific conference, which is quite different from all the others for the first time.
It is with great pleasure to invite you to the

55. Photogrammetric Week (PhoWo’15), held in Stuttgart, Sept 07 to 11, 2015.

The Photogrammetric Week Series is famous for delivering always an update in theories, algorithms, and workflows, in photogrammetry, computer vision and geoinformatics. Many paradigm changes were discussed in the past  – the next challenges will be  building bridges to computer science and computer graphics. Therefore PhoWo 15 will contribute to “Excellence in Photogrammetry, Computer Science and Geoinformatics”.

Every Photogrammetric Week event is a single-track symposium with carefully selected and internationally acknowledged keynote and invited speakers in the mornings and hands-on demonstrations of the Open PhoWo Partners in the afternoons. There is a social program without any extra costs – all is included in the reasonable PhoWo fee.

You are curious? Please feel free to study the details of the enclosed first announcement and visit our web pages: www.ifp.uni-stuttgart.de/phowo/index.en.html .

It will be a pleasure to meet you in Stuttgart in September 2015. Best regards
Yours Dieter Fritsch
